A sad day...

Kisses and hugs to my unborn baby I lost to my miscarriage in December. Yesterday was your due date, and I would have had you in my arms. Thank you for the time you were with me. I love you and miss you!

Yes, I'm slacking on my posting

I admit that I should be posting more. So, let's see if I can get you caught up. Two weeks ago I started having a reaction to the Procardia that the dr gave me to stop my preterm labor. I got a nasty rash on my hands, arms, chest, and kinda all over. I stopped taking the Procardia and started taking Benadryl. I was nervous to stop the Procardia, but so far no contractions, so that is great! Of course, this reaction happened 2 days before Mom and Dad's 40th Anniversary party. Of course!! (By the way, the party went really well, and it was nice to see all our friends and family. Thanks for everyone that helped me out!!) Anyway, the reaction started to go away, and it completely gone now. I had a doctor's appointment last week as a check up, and the good news is that I haven't had any change. So, that along with the good cervix measurement a couple weeks ago, the doctor was feeling pretty good about things. He even lifted some restrictions, but I am still supposed to take it easy. The longer I take it easy during the summer, the more I should be able to work once school starts in August. I'm glad that I even get to work a little! So, things are going well. The baby is moving a lot and likes to kick me about 9pm and 3am if I have to get up to use the bathroom. William is his cute little self. We have noticed that he is talking a lot more the past couple weeks. He still has some things we can't understand, but he is really developing those communication skills. Benjamin is doing well too. He put in a dog door, but unfortunately we found mold under the paneling in the family room!! Ugh! So, his little project had turn into a total home improvement project. I am lucky I am married to a very handy man! So, as you can see, we are doing pretty well here. I hope everyone had a great 4th of July. We did - even though it rained. Here are a few pics from Mom and Dad's 40th....

Preterm labor for baby #2

Well, I guess this pregnancy is just going to test us until this baby joins us in October. I was feeling some cramping yesterday, the OB sent me to the hospital, and we found out I am in preterm labor. Things aren't too bad yet, I am just softening a little and haven't dilated and the contractions have been stopped. The bad thing about this is I am just so early for this to happen. (23.5 weeks) When I had preterm labor with William, I was 32 weeks. I need to get to 30 weeks to really be ok if the baby comes early. That is 6.5 weeks. I will stop teaching summer school and am on a modified bedrest. Oh, and I am taking the medicine called Procardia to stop the contractions and keep them away. It is going to be a lot harder this time around dealing with bedrest and a 2 year old. Benjamin is going to have to be a single Dad for a while since I am not allowed to lift William at all! I have an ultrasound next week that will measure my cervix, and that will tell us a lot more. So, for now I am taking it easy on the couch and just letting this baby cook.

Please little boy, stay in your Mama's tummy for another 7 weeks.

We picked bedding for the baby

As many of you know, I love Mickey Mouse, so it probably won't surprise you this is the bedding we have decided on...

Week 1 of Summer School = DONE!

Yea! I have made it through the first week of summer school. But, to tell you the truth, it really hasn't been bad at all. I have 4 great kids in my group and between a short recess, computer time and some science time, the 3 hours I am there with the kids really fly by. I have to say that for the 8 years I have taught summer school, this has been the nicest. It will be nice to sleep in and be lazy once summer school is over, but I think I can make it another 2 weeks - no problem. Other things in the life of our family are fine. William is a great little guy! He LOVES to help with anything you ask him to, whether it be to put the laundry into the washer, fill the dish washer, pull weeds (my fav!!) or whatever. He is such a little helper and seems so happy when he does help. I hope this helpfulness continues as he grows up!! The little boy in my tummy is doing well too! He is kicking a lot more now and my belly is starting to grow. I have my next dr's appointment next week, so I'll keep you all informed how things go at that appointment. Benjamin is doing great too. His graduation party is coming up next weekend, and I am sooo proud of him. Not only did he graduate, but he did it with "Highest Honors". What a man! So, as you can see, things are going well. I'll try to add more pictures soon!

Yea, School is out!!

School is officially out for the summer! YEA!!! I got to sleep in today, went to the park with William and Grandma and Grandpa, and am relaxing watching a movie. It has been a wonderful first day off. Unfortunately, this time off is going to be short lived since I start summer school Monday. Oh well, I'm sure enjoying it today!!
